Carolina Possum

Carolina Possum

Carolina Possum

The first image was taken of her less than 60 days ago. 🎵🎶 Don’t call it a come back.🎶🎵 Our little mostly dead feral colony kitten never ceases to amaze. I tell ya, a weekend in the kitty ICU at All Feline Hospital does wonders for a baby at the end of her rope. So does a doting foster dad who refers to Carolina now as Possum, his sweet “trash princess kitty” who came from incredible disadvantages to bloom into the remarkably beautiful little thang she is today. Watching her turn into herself has been a show we wouldn’t have missed a second of for the world. She’s seemingly ***quite*** dedicated to her present schedule, which generally does not waiver from:
9:25am – 4:45pm = Very good kitten. Because she is sleeping. 😒
4:45pm-5:00pm = warm ups. Stretching. Put on sweat band.
5:00pm- 7:25pm = Find littermate brother. Great day if he’s sleeping. Fly onto brother like spider monkey. Kick the bejeezus out of said brother for no less than two hours and twenty five minutes. No worries, brother loves every second. 🙄
7:25pm- 8:30 pm = Sit at dry kibble bowl. Eat body weight twice.
8:30pm- 9:45pm= lay in dog’s bed while dog wishes it was laying in said bed. Stare intimidatingly. Bathe while staring at dog. Stare at dog from dog’s bed some more while doing nothing. 😈
9:45pm – 11:45pm = cat races through the whole house with brother. sub in additional minutes of brother whoopin’s.
11:45pm – 3:45 am = wait on bedpost for human feet to move beneath covers. Murder feet. Wait for more movement. Repeat.
3:45am – 4:45 am = kibble brunch, one serving of body weight this time.
4:45am – 6:00 am = sleep directly on foster dad’s head while exhaling cat food breath into his beard.
6:00 am- 8:45 am = human beep machine goes off. Human leaves bed. Sleep on human’s pillow.
8:45 am – 9:25 am= HUMAN HAS ZOOM MEETING FOR WORK!!!! BEST TIME OF DAY!!! Sit on humans shoulder like parrot in front of camera. Crash into human face fur while he attempts to speak coding to superiors. Forcibly demand attention from human and camera. Continue until camera is off.
9:25am- nighty night. 💤
Now, we have it on pretty good authority that once this little miracle baby fully grows into herself, she’ll chill the heck out. Kittens are just kind of that way. But make no mistake, we are 100% here for this kid being as big of kitty terrorist as she wants, when she wants. It’s pretty dang incredible she’s alive at all. And after much debate in the foster household, the Carolina Possum is now fully vetted and up for adoption. She will undoubtedly take a little time to warm up to new people, but once she does, she’ll be murdering your feet nightly and crashing your corporate meetings in no time. This girl is undoubtedly worth the minimal work she will take to adjust to new surroundings, and once comfortable, she simply lives to please. But not mostly you. Mostly to please herself. Because… cat.
You need to adopt the Carolina Possum.

Meredith

Meredith

Meredith

Meet Meredith! This beautiful girl is looking for a forever home with her sister Meredith. They were born approximately July 8th. These girls are a little spicy when they first meet you but once they know you, all they want is love and attention. They are a bonded pair so we are looking for a family who wants two fluffy babies to dote on.

Christina and Meredith have been around dogs. They are good with small dogs but still timid with big dogs. They have done well with older kids but haven’t met any little ones yet. Fully litter box trained!

The girls have been vaccinated and dewormed and will be spayed once they are big enough. If you are interested in meeting them, please fill out our online adoption application.

Quinn

Quinn

Quinn

If Quinn were a cookie, she would be something gooey and warm, straight from the oven. If Quinn were a sweater, she would be one bulky and soft and impossibly comfortable winter after winter. If Quinn were a person, she would be that girl that would charge the air in a room with excitement and wanderlust, simply by entering it. And if Quinn were camping gear, she would be a lantern. There’s a light inside of Quinn that refuses to flicker, whether she’s holed up in a map dot animal shelter week after week after seemingly endless week, or curled up in a big comfy chair at her foster home. That light doesn’t change. It’s as steady as she is. Always ready to make each day an adventure. Always ready to instantly reconstruct mundane into magic. It’s like she somehow knows that no matter how bad things can be one day, there’s something incredible waiting for her, and she just has to be patient enough to get to that something. She’s been waiting for that forever something for the two years she’s been on this earth. From the moment she arrived, Quinn has been romancing her foster family with the unbridled joy she so expertly exudes. Her Labrador drive to explore, her eagerness to please and her love of life is something intoxicating for anyone who meets her. She retrieves like a champion, relishes the company of other dogs , but mostly, this girl is a companion through and through. She strikes us as the ideal best friend for folks that have the same desire to live and experience things that she does- the folks that will never let her go again. The days are getting shorter this time of year. Need a little more light in your life? Lucky you. You’ve found our Quinn. 🥰 Apply to take her forever home.
Helix

Helix

Helix

With a face like the one on Helix, you would think his life would have been easier than it has been. Talk about a knockout, right? He should have been rolling in sunbeams his last seven years in earth, eating fancy stuff for every meal, with a family that would never let him go. But he hasn’t been that fortunate. YET. He’s spent over a calander year waiting for the opportunity to get the break of a lifetime- a real family. This guy is no stranger to the big wide world, and all the things in it- friendly and otherwise. As a retired “working cat,” Helix sports the tipped ear of a guy from the streets, the savvy to know what’s out to hurt him, and the deep appreciation for a comfy couch and a hand stretched out in love. One of the other additional “features” of his humble beginnings is his FIV positive status. FIV is NOT a death sentence. Quite frankly, it doesn’t affect him at all. If not for the recent vetting he had received, we would have had no clue he was infected. What this means- he should probably be an only cat, or paired with other FIV positive cats OR- any other animals besides cats. The odds of transmitting the virus to another cat are not likely, but in the interest of extreme caution, having him fly as the household solo kitty is best.
Helix’s ability to abandon his former aversion to humans is incredible. The forgiveness in this gorgeous boy is unmistakeable. The ways he wants to repay you for getting him into his forever home are innumerable.

Marble

Marble

Meet Marble/, one of our Roly Stones kittens! These beautiful babies were found abandoned in a box during an Oklahoma rainstorm. Luckily, they were rescued and found a foster home in Lincoln, NE to grow big and strong. Marble and his siblings are now ready for homes of their own.

Marble is the only gray and white kitten of the bunch and his white socks make him the cutest! He is very cuddly and likes to be near his foster mom when he plays. He definitely wants to be a lap kitty when he isn’t busy playing. Like any kitten, he LOVES to play! He wrestles with his siblings and chases balls every chance he gets. Great litter box matters and also clean with his eating and drinking habits. Marble has all his claws but does well with nail trims as long as you do them during cuddle time. He also does well using the cat tree and other available cat scratchers. He is not afraid of the dogs in his foster home and is respectful of the resident grumpy cat.
